Emily Munn (Doctoral Candidate)Emily was a member of the Auburn University Swim Team while completing her Bachelor's in Exercise Science. She completed a Master's in Special Education at Auburn University. She has been running the adapted swim program in the lab since Summer 2016. Her research focus on the effects of adapted swimming lessons on swim skill, swim safety, social functions, and emotional regulation in individuals with disabilities. For her dissertation, Emily is examining the effects of aerobic exercise on attention, functional mobility, balance, and aerobic fitness in adults with disabilities.

Julia Montagner Sassi (Doctoral Candidate)Julia earned her Bachelor's from UNIFRA (Brazil) in Psychology. She completed her Masters in Exercise Science at Auburn University. Her research investigates the relationship between motor and cognitive development in infants and children from low socioeconomic backgrounds. Julia enjoys reading, cooking, traveling and spending time with family and friends.

Danielle Carabello (Doctoral Student)Danielle graduated from Temple University with her Bachelor's of Science in Athletic Training. She received her Master's in Exercise Science from Auburn University. Danielle's research interests are: Examining the relationship between physical fitness (i.e., aerobics and strength training) on cognitive function and interoception in individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities as a function of aging; and identifying risk factors for injury in individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities participating in physical activities and sports.

Mary Grayson Nix (Master's Student)Mary Grayson earned her B.S. in Exercise Science at Auburn University. She serves as the Health and Wellness Coordinator for the EAGLES Program at Auburn University, teaching skills to the students in the program to be active and live healthy lifestyles. She is a 200-hour trained yoga instructor through Yoga Alliance and teaches at a local yoga studio and the Auburn Recreation and Wellness Center. Mary Grayson is a Certified Personal Trainer through NASM and is also a Certified Inclusive Fitness Trainer, teaching fitness to individuals with disabilities. As a former college athlete, she is very passionate about helping and teaching others the benefits of exercise for their mind and body.

Ali Northcutt (Undergraduate Research Fellow)Ali is currently a sophomore at Auburn University majoring in Exercise Science. Her research is focused on The Efficacy of Adaptive Aerobic Exercise on Sleep in Adults with Disabilities. Outside of research, Ali enjoys spending time with her friends and family, coaching swimming, and teaching swim lessons.
